Driver Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
By registering as a driver on Zime ("the Platform"), you agree to the following terms. Please also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your ID number, license details, and other personal information.
1. Account Approval & Verification
Driver applications require ID number and driver's license verification before approval. Zime may approve, reject, or request additional documentation at its discretion. Providing false or misleading identification information is grounds for immediate account termination.
2. Accepting & Completing Deliveries
You may claim any available delivery job shown in your dashboard. Once claimed, you are expected to collect items from the seller's pickup address and deliver them to the customer's address in a reasonable timeframe. Repeated failure to complete claimed deliveries may result in suspension.
3. Verification Codes
Some deliveries include a verification code shared with the customer, intended to help confirm you are delivering to the correct person. You are encouraged to check this code at handoff where practical.
4. Cash Collection & Reconciliation
For orders marked "cash on delivery", you are responsible for collecting the full order amount from the customer at handoff. Cash collected on Zime's behalf must be deposited or reconciled with Zime promptly, using the reference process shown in your dashboard. Unreconciled cash discrepancies may be offset against your pending delivery fee payouts, and repeated or serious discrepancies may result in suspension and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
5. Delivery Fees & Payouts
You earn a delivery fee per completed job, shown to you before and after each delivery in your dashboard, less Zime's platform commission. Payouts are made via EFT to the banking details on file in your account. Payouts cannot be processed if valid banking details are not provided.
6. Vehicle & Conduct
You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is roadworthy and that you hold a valid license for the vehicle type you registered. You agree to conduct yourself professionally and safely when interacting with sellers and customers.
7. Independent Contractor Status
Drivers operate as independent contractors, not employees of Zime. You are responsible for your own tax obligations arising from delivery fee income earned through the Platform.
8. Suspension & Termination
Zime may suspend or terminate a driver account for cash discrepancies, fraud, unsafe conduct, repeated failed deliveries, or breach of these terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting support; outstanding payouts owed to you at that point will still be honored, less any outstanding cash owed to Zime.
9. Limitation of Liability
Zime is not liable for losses arising from a seller's or customer's conduct, or for incidents occurring during transit, except where required by law.
10. Changes to These Terms
Zime may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
